IPL 2023: Top three players to watch out for in Gujarat Titans squad

IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans did a splendid job in the last year’s season of the Indian Premier League. They finished the league fixtures as table-toppers and won the IPL trophy in their debut season. And once again will be heavy favourites among the top bookmakers for IPL 2023 season.

It was a fairytale to see the new build team under the ferocious captaincy of Hardik Pandya. Everyone doubted Hardik Pandya’s return to cricket after 8 months of injury and that too as a captain of a team. However, as soon as GT started its campaign, it completely changed the perception of the IPL fans towards the team and its skipper.

As they came for the IPL auctions, GT were targeting to strengthen their middle order and get some experience in the bowling segment.

3 players who will be in the spotlight from the Gujarat Titans camp

1) Kane Williamson

The New Zealand skipper made headlines for all the wrong reasons in the year 2022. Kane Williamson was unable to lead the team toward a good future and unfortunately, the franchise chose to part ways with him. The Kiwi leader also witnessed a dip in his overall performance in the first three quarters of the year 2022 and his slow strike rate was one of the biggest concerns.

However, Kane Williamson bounced back in the last quarter of 2022 and played some crucial innings for New Zealand. He has left the Hyderabad camp and it will be a fresh start with the Gujarat Titans.

2) Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi made his debut for IPL in 2018 and since then he was a crucial part of the team. However, Mavi’s performance was not as good as in previous seasons and Kolkata had to release the player.

Gujarat Titans have successfully signed Shivam Mavi during IPL auctions and at the same time, the player made headlines with his T20 debut against Sri Lanka in January 2023. He picked up 4 wickets in his first game and this makes him an exciting player to look forward to. Pandya will be using him to his full potential in IPL 2023.

3) Joshua Little

Another highlight of the recently held IPL auctions was the bidding war of the Irish pacer Joshua Little. The 23-year-old player was sold to Gujarat Titans for the price of 4.4 Crore. Joshua was part of 26 T20 fixtures and he picked up 39 wickets at an economy of 7.58.

He is an integral part of the Ireland squad and will be making his IPL debut in 2023. The spotlight will be on him because of his recent achievements in the T20 World Cup.
