Rishabh Pantโs Return – How Will it Impact Delhi Capitals?
Delhi Capitals have waited for a year to hear the good news for the return of their skipper. Now, the team management has to come out with the best possible team combination so that they can dominate the league from the start.
Rishabh Pant will be expected to be part of the middle order with Englandโs Harry Brook and West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope. Harry Brook failed to make an impact in the previous edition for Sunrisers Hyderabad but this year he is much more experienced and will be hopeful to build a partnership with Pant at number 5.
Rishabh Pantโs return is big news for David Warner and Prithvi Shaw at the top order. Pant is known for his explosive batting in difficult situations and hence the top-order duo wonโt be under any pressure and they both will be able to play their natural game.
Delhi Capitals also has Mitchell Marsh which gives Pant an option to bat at number 3 and replace Phil Salt from last year. The combination of Shaw, Warner, and Pant will become the most fearless top order and can give the Capitals a major advantage in the league.
Can Rishabh Pant Alter the Destiny of Delhi Capitals?
It is a very subjective answer to the above question but after a year of absence from international and domestic cricket, Rishabh Pant has a point to prove. He has a motivation to perform for his franchise and to get back in the senior team for the upcoming T20 World Cup which is scheduled to take place in the USA and West Indies.
Team India has changed a lot in Pantโs absence but considering Pantโs previous performances and contributions to the teamโs success, BCCI will expect him to perform at his best and make a comeback in international cricket. If Rishabh Pant is successful in doing that, there is no way Delhi Capitals can be stopped from dominating IPL 2024.
