Team India started their ODI tour of South Africa on a positive note and scored a comfortable win over the hosts in the first ODI. The Proteas were stunned by the quality of bowling from the visitors but they still have time to rebuild and strategise to come out as a stronger team in the 2nd ODI which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at St. Georgeβs Oval.
South Africa witnessed a loss in the 1st ODI but they have a good quality of players in the team who can bounce back and level the series in the 2nd ODI.
Team India will be eyeing to completely wipe out the hosts with another win in the 2nd ODI by maintaining the similar momentum as the first fixture. The top bookmakers in India have great odds for this match.
Team India has a good starting pair and they are expected to give the team a balanced start in the 2nd ODI.
The betting tip is...
Team India to score 60.5+ runs in first 10 overs
The decision to bat first by the hosts in the first ODI turned out to be the biggest mistake for them. In the top order, Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen were sent back to the pavilion without scoring any runs. Tony de Zorzi (28 off 22) tried to balance out things but he failed to handle the pressure.
The Proteas middle order fell like a house of cards for a total score of 20 runs. Andile Phehlukwayo (33 off 49) gave a much-required push to the overall score at the lower order but he was the lone ranger.
After a disappointing performance by the batters, the pressure came on to the bowling unit and they were destined to fail in front of the team which has a good depth in batting. Wiaan Mulder & Andile Phehlukwayo picked up a single wicket each and the rest of the bowlers failed to scalp a single wicket.
We might expect a few changes in the top order of the Proteas after a below-average performance from the batting side.
Predicted Lineup: Reeza Hendricks, Tony de Zorzi, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen (wk), David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj, Nandre Burger, Tabraiz Shamsi
Team Indiaβs pace attack with the new ball was at the top of his performance. The duo Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan completely decimated the opposition by themselves.
Arshdeep picked up a fiver in 10 overs at an economy of 3.70 and Avesh Khan picked up 4 wickets in 8 overs at an economy of 3.38. Kuldeep Yadav also contributed with a single wicket in 2.3 overs.
The batters came on to score without any pressure as they already won half of the match. Ruturaj Gaikwad (5 off 10) was gone early but Sai Sudharsan (55 off 43) & Shreyas Iyer (52 off 45) started scoring without any hesitation and helped team India to score an easy victory in the first ODI.
Skipper KL Rahul wonβt be making any changes to the winning combination of the team
Predicted Lineup: KL Rahul (c & wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar.
With some new faces in the team, India showcased their class in both batting and bowling. The Proteas have made some major changes in their team and they are now exposed as a vulnerable side that is under pressure to level the series.
Team India will get the benefit of the same and we predict a win for India in the 2nd ODI.
