In the past six months, a lot has changed in T20 cricket. The recently held ICC T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup tournament have given a chance to a lot of new faces and these faces will be on the shopping list of most of the franchises during the auction.

You can find the best betting bookies here to bet on IPL 2023 matches.

Five players who might be the highlight of the upcoming IPL mega auctions

Every year, some players are left behind after the auction but some niche T20 experts receive the highest bids during the auction.

1) Sam Curran

The former Chennai Super Kings allrounder, Sam Curran, missed out on the last year's season because of his injury. However, his comeback has been great and it is because of his brilliant performance, England won the ICC T20 World Cup this year. The player was released from Chennai last year and he is a free agent now.

This year, Curran would be on the list of every major IPL franchise, and abiding war is expected to buy the English allrounder. His IPL credentials are strong and in recent international performances, Curran has outplayed himself and has made it to the list of elite players.

2) Cameron Green

The Australian player is expected to make his debut in the tournament this year. Green has suddenly become a sensation in Australian cricket and all because of his brilliant performance in international cricket. Cameron made headlines after replacing the injured Josh Inglis in the team this year and now he has become one of the most crucial players for the team.

Besides his batting prowess, Green can also bowl pace and every franchise looks forward to hiring the services of a player with that ability.

3) Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes pulled off last year’s IPL season because of personal reasons and the player wanted to focus more on his international schedule. However, this year the English captain has decided to make a comeback and all the franchises will be desperately waiting for him during the IPL auction.

Stokes was the most expensive buy of the 2017 IPL auction when RR bought him for 14.5 crores and is expected to top the charts again. He carries a good experience in international cricket and the Indian Premier League.

4) Mayank Agarwal

The biggest shock before the IPL auction was the release of Mayank Agarwal from Punjab Kings. The former skipper was retained by the franchise for 12 crores but because of his below-average performance last year, he was released from the franchise.

Mayank has not made any major impact in international cricket but his credentials in IPL are very strong. Agarwal has scored 300+ runs in three consecutive seasons from 2019-2021 and can repeat the same performance. The franchise who are looking to hire a reliable opening batter will pay a good amount for Mayank Agarwal.

5) Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossow made his debut in the IPL tournament in 2014 with Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, the South African batsman completely failed to make an impact and was released by the team in 2015. Rossouw’s journey with South African cricket has been filled with lots of ups and downs.

His recent comeback to the team has been positive and that has bought him into the limelight. He played 11 matches in 2022, amassed 372 runs, including two centuries, and averaged 46.50. Rossouw’s name will be on the shopping list of almost every team during the auctions.
