Oldest players that will be part of the bidding war in the IPL 2023 mini-auction

Amit Mishra (40 years): The former Indian spinner is the eldest of the lot. Mishra has 173 scalps to his name and is the joint-most successful spinner in the history of the Indian Premier League. The 40-year-old spinner has been part of three franchisees in the past.

He has played for the likes of now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals. He was released by DC ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction.

Mohammad Nabi (37 years): After spending a season on the sidelines with two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders, Mohammad Nabi is back in the IPL auction. The former Afghanistan skipper was the first player from his county to be sold in the IPL auction in 2017.

He has featured for the Sunrisers Hyderabad for five seasons in the past. Nabi has himself listed with a starting price of INR 1 crore.

David Wiese (37 years): The 37-year-old signed his first IPL deal back in 2015 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Wiese managed to score just 127 runs and scalped 16 times in his first two seasons for RCB.

However, things didn't go well for the all-rounder and he was not part of the league after that. Wiese expects an initial offer of INR 1 crore will help him to be part of the extravaganza once again.

Rilee Rossouw (36 years): Rilee Rossouw has been in exceptional form off late this year after making a return to the South African T20I circuit after a gap of six years. Rossouw is regarded as one of the finest batters in the world at the moment. In his T20 career, the South African batter has more than 6800 runs in his kitty with an amazing strike rate of 143. He has put himself in the bracket of INR 2 crore in the upcoming auction.

Shakib Al Hasan (36 years): Shakib Al Hasan, the legendary allrounder from Bangladesh, will be hoping that he has a bidder this time around after he was overlooked by the franchisees last season. He was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad that lifted the IPL trophy twice between 2011-17.

He also featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad for a couple of seasons before returning back to KKR. Read more similar stories on IPL 2023 and other sports.
