The challenging circuit in Budapest will certainly hold a lot of intrigue as the European leg of the 2023 F1 calendar continues.Β

News

The Hungaroring circuit near Budapest is one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar. Overtaking is a massive challenge on the Hungaroring, with the outlay of the track mirroring that of a topsy-turvy street circuit.Β

Considering this, getting off to a good start by first gaining a high position in qualifying and then a headstart in the main race is extremely important. The significance of this will not be lost on Verstappen and the other drivers and making the perfect start will be the key target for everyone.Β

Apart from Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton has also impressed in recent weeks and continued his good form by taking home a podium finish in his home race. Lando Norris finished second, making it two drivers on the podium.Β

The pressure though is mounting on Sergio Perez, who had another poor race, finishing sixth. Fernando Alonso will also look to get back on the podium, after a seventh-placed finish in Silverstone.Β

The grid will also see the return of a familiar face at the Hungaroring, with Daniel Ricciardo replacing Nick De Vries in the Alpha Tauri.Β

Weather forecast

There will be thunderstorms around the Hungaroring on Friday during the practice session. This will only intensify on Saturday afternoon, with a thunderstorm or two predicted during qualifying.Β

But after a cloudy morning, sunshine will return to Hungaroring during the race on Sunday afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius, making it perfect conditions for a race.Β

Hungaroring circuit

Hungaroring near Budapest is another one of the relatively older tracks on the calendar, having been built in 1986. The track is 4.381 kilometers long, with 70 laps scheduled to be held during the 2023 race.Β

The circuit is famous for its lack of straights, several challenging corners, and a resemblance to the Monaco street circuit in terms of design.Β

Despite not being the quickest of circuits out there, drivers enjoy the challenge of being technically tested in Hungaroring.Β
