IPL 2023: Sunrisers Hyderabad has witnessed a major decline in their overall performance from the past two seasons of the Indian Premier League. In 2021, David Warner had to face the situation and the relationship between Hyderabad and Warner ended up in an unexpected manner. In 2022, Kane Williamson lead the team but there was no major change in the overall performance of the squad. Hyderabad finished 8th in the tournament with just four wins and no major accolades to display.
This year, the Sunrisers have released some big names from their squad including their skipper Kane Williamson. The franchise is expected to do some big changes in their squad and with IPL auctions about to start, Hyderabad will be looking forward to hiring the services of a new captain.

5) Abhishek Sharma
Delhi Capitals is one franchise that has always trusted a young player to lead the team. At first, it was Shreyas Iyer and now it is Rishabh Pant. The team has not won any trophy yet but they have come closer with every season. Hyderabad can think of the same plan and appoint one of their own Abhishek Sharma as the new skipper of the team.
Abhishek has been brilliant with his bat in IPL 2022. In 14 matches, Sharma scored 426 runs at a strike rate of 133.13. His contribution towards the teamβs success has been phenomenal and can be given an opportunity to lead the team towards success.
4) Ben Stokes
Among the registered players for the IPL auction, Ben Stokes has also chosen to make his way back again for the IPL tournament. Due to the international schedule and personal reasons, Stokes took a break from the tournament chose not to be part of it in 2022. However, he is back in it and all the franchises will be looking forward to bid for the English skipper in the upgoing auction.
If Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully bag the deal, Stokes can lead the team and use his experience to help the squad reach new heights, Ben Stokes is an experienced name in the T20 cricket and his presence for Hyderabad will be a big push for the squad overall.
3) Dasun Shanaka
The Sri Lankan cricket has recently witnessed a rise in the quality of their game and that was all made possible under the leadership of Dasun Shanaka. Sri Lankan squad won Asia Cup 2022 under his captaincy.
His credentials are strong when it comes to the pace balling allrounder skills and his presence for Hyderabad will definitely give them a new way to achieve success in the tournament.
2) Aiden Markram
The South African batsman, Aiden Markram is already associated with he Sunrisers Hyderabad and has contributed in their last season of the tournament. Aiden has witnessed a good year in his performance and especially when it comes to the T20 format.
He scored 381 runs in 14 games last year and left a huge mark in the middle order of the team. Rather than going for an outsider, Hyderabad management can go for Aiden Markram as their regular skipper and help him in handling the whole squad.
1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar
When it comes to the T20 cricket and the Indian Premier League, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the biggest names. He is a pillar in Indiaβs T20 bowling department who has always helped the team to pick wickets and surprise the opposition with his swing techniques.
Bhuvneshwar has already managed the team as a vice-captain and he can be a valuable asset to Hyderabad as a captain. The Sultan of Swing carries a good experience of IPL and international cricket and can infuse his profound knowledge among the other players.
