2023 US GP Prediction – Formula 1

Mission three consecutive world championships in a row was finally accomplished for Max Verstappen after his win in the Qatar Grand Prix.

Verstappen only needed three points to seal the world title and he did not even have to wait for the main race, with his second-place finish in the sprint race helping him accomplish the task. Verstappen then continued the party on Sunday, winning the race to cap off a memorable weekend for him.Β

The F1 calendar now moves to North America, with the United States Grand Prix scheduled to take place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. All eyes will be on Verstappen as to whether he can continue a dominant run in the 2023 season or will the standards drop off now that the championship has been sealed.

The race for second place in the standings is also heating up, with a host of contenders still in the fray to finish as the runners-up to Verstappen in the 2023 calendar.

News

The 2023 driver’s and constructors championships have both been decided, with Max Verstappen and his team Red Bull emerging as the victors. Verstappen though will still be determined to continue his sensational run in 2023, as he looks to seal his place in history by delivering perhaps the most dominant season in F1’s long and storied history.Β

Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez on the other hand, is under a lot of pressure. It has been an inconsistent season for the Mexican driver and his seat for the 2024 calendar in a Red Bull is still not assured.

There are also reports circulating that failure to clinch a second-place finish in the season will see him lose his place to Australian Daniel Ricciardo for the 2024 season. His current standing is under threat from veterans Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, who are perhaps two of the greatest racers of all time. The next five races will be crucial for Perez’s future in F1.Β

Apart from the Red Bull drivers, McLaren has also delivered some stunning performances in the last few races. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris again clinched podium finishes in Qatar, as it looks more and more likely that they will be the main challengers to Red Bull in 2024. It will be interesting to see whether they can continue their upward trajectory in the United States.

Circuit of the Americas is one of the newer tracks in F1 and has earned rave reviews from the drivers for being an extremely fun track to drive on. It was designed by Hermann Tilke and opened in October 2012. The first F1 race at the venue took place in the same year and witnessed over 100,000 spectators attending the race.Β

The circuit has drawn inspiration from some of the best corners at Silverstone and Suzuka and is known to encourage overtaking. The length of the circuit is 5.513 kilometers.
