Gujarat Titans
Rajasthan RoyalsThe stage is set for Match 23 of IPL 2025 as the Gujarat Titans lock horns with the Rajasthan Royals this Wednesday in Ahmedabad.
The Titans have hit the ground running this season, showcasing solid form with three wins from four matches. That run has placed them comfortably in second position on the points table, and they’ll be eager to maintain their momentum at home.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, had a shaky start with two early defeats that saw them stumble out of the gates. However, they’ve managed to claw their way back into the mix with consecutive victories, bringing them up to seventh place and restoring some much-needed confidence in the camp.
With both teams carrying contrasting narratives into this clash, expect a high-intensity contest under the lights at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Sai Sudharsan has been GT’s top scorer this season and has been consistently solid at the top.
The betting tip is...
Sai Sudharsan to score 30+ runs
Gujarat Titans
Rajasthan RoyalsAfter a poor start at home against Punjab, Gujarat Titans have bounced back strongly with four straight wins, climbing to second on the table. They’ve hit their stride and now look like one of the most dangerous teams in the competition.
The top three—Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler—have begun to click. Sudharsan leads the GT scoring charts with 191 runs at an average of 47.75 and a strike rate of 150.39. Gill returned to form with an unbeaten 61 against Sunrisers, a timely boost as he returns to a ground where he averages over 60.
Sherfane Rutherford has quietly impressed in the middle order, smashing 129 runs at a strike rate of 176.71 in four outings as Impact Sub. Washington Sundar, playing his first game of the season, made an instant impact with 49 off 29 after a shaky start against Hyderabad.
The bowling unit has done the heavy lifting. Mohammed Siraj has been effective with the new ball, Prasidh Krishna has chipped in regularly, and Sai Kishore has kept things tight with an economy of 7.06 in the middle overs.
Rashid Khan hasn't been in top form and will be hoping to find some form back.
Predicted Lineup: Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma/ Arshad Khan Impact Player: Sherfane Rutherford
The Rajasthan Royals had a shaky start to the season with back-to-back losses, but they’ve turned things around with impressive away wins over the CSK and Punjab Kings. Their latest win was a dominant 50-run victory, powered by a strong 205-4 total.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was back to his best with a fluent 67 off 45, while skipper Sanju Samson added a sharp 38. Riyan Parag continued his good run with an unbeaten 43 off 25, helping RR post a formidable total.
The middle order is shaping up nicely, with Nitish Rana, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer providing depth. Still, the Royals rely on one of their top three—Jaiswal, Samson, or Parag—to anchor the innings.
On the bowling side, Jofra Archer has found his rhythm again, taking 4 wickets across the last two games. Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have controlled the middle overs well, sharing 10 wickets between them. Sandeep Sharma continues to be effective at death with his variations and control.
The Rajasthan Royals will be going with tried and test playing XI.
Predicted Lineup: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Sandeep Sharma Impact Player: Kumar Kartikeya
Gujarat Titans head into this clash as the more settled unit with momentum on their side, especially at home, where their top order is firing, and the bowlers are in sync.
Rajasthan Royals have shown signs of revival, but they remain heavily reliant on their top three. Unless RR’s middle order steps up and their spinners dominate, GT are strong favourites to make it five in a row.
